Default Body panel adhesive question

I saw this product used awhile back on the tv show "TRUCKS" via Power Block TV. Its an adhesive you apply to exterior body sheet metal parts to repair replacement body panels e.g. door skins and roof panels. This eliminates the use of spot welders or migs that may cause heat to distort the repair. A search on ebay showed a 3M product that comes in a 2 part calking gun cartridge. The cost average for the mix is about $30 but the calking gun is $299! I'm not familiar with this but was intrested in doing a non-welded repair I need to do ona roof panel. If I can get away without appling heat then I won't have to remove the headliner and trim. The problem is the cost. Does anyone know of a cheaper kit that yield the same results that don't require an expensive gun? I won't be doing this to often. Thanks for any replies.
