Default blackouts for taillights

I really like the look of the taillight blackouts for the 4th gens. Are they illegal? They make blackouts for 20% and 38%. I would really like the 20%, but I want to hear your guys opinions on them first. Any of you guys have them? thanks

even if the are illegal.... i dont think it will really matter... i have them and the look FRESH! i've never really heard of anyone getting pulled over for them either... and if they have im sure they would just get a fix it warning or sumthin. dont go with the cheap stick on ones tho they suck.. thats what i got at first and they are a ***** to put on and then they like to come off... go with the plastic ones that snap on. thats what i have right now and they look really nice! i also have the night shades spray on stuff that i used for my corners and turn signals/running lights. it looks good when they are not lit up but when they are it doesnt look to hot. so i wouldnt recomend doing that for ur tails.

.... def. do the taillight blackouts tho! they look hot!

Personally I do not like them but if you are pulled over for them it is considered a non moving violation ........ which would not go against your insurance. I think in most states the fine is less then $100.
