1969 Camaro Convertible Restoration
Hey, I just picked up my next project: a 1969 Camaro convertible. The car is pretty solid, but will need some metal work. I am planning on replacing the floor pans and possibly the rear quarters. The doors and front clip are in ok shape. They are definitely savable, but in the interest of time, I was thinking about just replacing them with new after market parts. There is someone on eBay selling complete front clips for around $1000, and I have seen doors for about $275 each. A set of rear quarters runs around $650. How good are these after market body panels? I don't want to get them and then spend weeks trying to get everything to line up correctly; I would rather spend the time fixing the original stuff. What brand of body panels have you guys used and how happy were you with them?
What i was planning on getting:
All new front sheet metal Less inner fender wells with new bumper: $964.00 Shipped
Along with that, I will need a full floor and a full trunk pan. The quarters are solid but have been replaced previously. They did a decent job, but I may redo them to just to improve the quality of the restoration.
