ok i know that most of the forum is camaro guys...but i havea 1990 z24 cavalier....i like to think of it as being a mini camaro....its got a 3.1 mpfi v6 with a 5 speed.........so anyway, i was on my way home from the store and i come across a late 80's early 90's fox body 5.0, so i stop in and sorta looked at the car, the guy imediatly jumped on me like idk wat.....he's like wtf are u lookin at in that pos cavi of urs.....so i told him if he wants to talk **** lets see where he's at with me.....so we go down the road a bit to a road that has been closed for awhile....its about 1/4 mile stretch.....so we get lined up and his girl drops the flag (rag) lol....and we launch we are side by side in 1st...i hit 2nd and pull on him by a fender....he pulls bak up on me at about 1/8th mile mark...and i powershift to 3rd and pull hard on him got about 1/2 car maybe more on him....he hits 3rd and gains some but im still out infront.....i pull 4th and thats where we shut down......needless to say i beat him.....i know it was only by a fender.....but still i got a stock 3.1 in a fwd and he got a 5.0....maybe he couldnt drive idk.......BUT IT MADE ME HAPPY. lol

 

Kids and there toys.. sounds like someone need to learn how to drive his pony before he trys to puff up his chest.. especially infront of his girlfriend lol

i had a '90 Cav. with a 3.1 5spd , blue and silver. i ran and outran more than 1 stock 5.0 stang in that car..once you get over the tq steer they move on pretty good...first stock front drive car i had ever been impressed by...thing would give a real solid "chirp" in third....

 

I dont mean to rag on the ford guys, but without mods, the5.0 mystiqueis as big of bs as there is.people think 5.0s are the ****, but stock they suck.

i have a stock 5.0 in my mustang and i raced a buddy of mine with a z24 and i beat him bad. it wasnt even a race.

 

Yeah have you seen the factory power ratings for those 5.0 Mustangs? They were really weak. I guess they made up there lack of power in torque but I would be imbarrased to sport a stock 5.0.
