the ford 302 is a stout motor, and we all know of some that run very well. you used a singular event, and gave no other info (as in mods for both cars) and act as if thats gospel. I have my own race against a 306 HCI 5.0 mustang with full fuel support and I waxed him.
we need to run on the assumption that stock cars are not fast, regardless of make. how fast is this civic of the hypothetical friend of a friend of an i heard about guy? I know how fast swapped civics typically go, especially kids in the age group you would know (17ish right? nobody older than that trolls). fastest I usually see is somewhere in the 14 range. every once in awhile a kid who is not completely retarded will get a 12, but 12s arent that impressive.

 

listen gm sucks plain and simple, your over paying for an automatic car that has horrible performance, and if you get lucky and find a standard gm, itll have a rebuilt motor in it cause u gm kids blow em trying to keep up with the foreign cars and fords

a 5.0 is a 302cu engine their buddy, and u can go buy a 5.0 out their for half the price of a vette, throw a few bucks under the hood and rape the vette all day long

actually yeah..... one of our other admin runs a ss camaro with relatively little done and hes going to break 10s this year. the 383 stroker is about the same work as a honda swap and results in 10s fairly regularly.

did you do any research? ur just going to get flamed for not knowing anything. and how many NA imports are in 10s? i havent seen it. most of the civic hatches I see are running big friggin turbos.

 

how about a heavy boat fbody with 500 dollars in exhaust work running 12s hell, go see the 4th gen sticky. stock ls1 fbody in the 12s. and we even get to keep our leather seats and air conditioning lol. ive been in a "fast" civic. some people like no interior carpeting... not for me
