i am still going to go with statistics and therefore logic that says most people overhype their cars. and NOT all J2z supras are 600hp. hell, alot of people cant even handle that ammount of power. and i think its a safe bet to say that EVERYONE that can control a car like that knows a thing or two about mechanics. therefore, she beat a grand prix and thinks she runs in 9s. its ok, because alot of GP owners think they can run that. but paper racing is for 15 year olds who cream themselves at the sight of a honda+wing and ive been drinking for awhile. Jack Daniels, tell everyone goodnight for me

Well.. I think it's a scam but I need your guys help (please serious help, I don't need the bad critiquing). Here's the story:
While I was researching Supra's to get a cost estimate I found a supra that was going for $2,998 I thought it was gonna be an old model.. or completely totalled. It is a 1998 Supra Turbo with under 60,000 clicks on it.. and lots of performance after parts. Now I thought this was a typo.. after all a car like that on the rest of the websites was going between 40-60 grand. So i e-mailed him asking about the price, and he said.. "Because of my job I have no usefor acar, and I had to move away. Therefore since it's not being used, I might as well sell it" (not actual quote but the gist of it).
At this point I thought definite scam, so I asked him how the whole process would work if I were to buy the car. He said he wants it to be secure for both of us so I give the money to an E-bay Agent. He holds it for me until I get the car here (The guy pays for shipping) I get to check it out and test drive it for 10 days.. If I'm satisfied I call the Agent and tell him send the money. If not, I say no, the car gets sent back (he pays shipping again) and I get my money back..
Two main questions..
1) The car IS NOT on Ebay, but he chose this method because of it's security, how secure is it?
2) Is this a scam.. It seems far too good to be true.. (which yes I know means it usually is) but.. it is tough to pass up this opportunity. Help.[/align]
I also know it's not stolen because he says he has a clean title ready to come with the car once I have decided whether I want to buy it or not.

I was thinkin the same thing.. but he already told me he doesn't live there. So that's no good. How does one get scammed on Ebay (for future reference)? Is there some way he gets my money from the agent if I don't get/like the product anyways?
i thought supra production stopped in 97? 2. the job thing is BS. so is the shipping thing. to ship that, 2 times, if u dont like it, would be atleast 1000 bucks. half the car.
never heard of a ebay agent. lol. but i dont shop on ebay.
