so i was on my way home last night and im riding behind one of those huge deisel f250s and hes going maybe 40 in a 45 zone so i decide to pass him. i downshift from 4th to 3rd and start to pass him and then i realize that theres an early 90ssilverado infront of him so i decide to pass him too. im now at maybe55 or 60or so in 5th and he guns it so that i dont pass him. i dont even downshift. just stayed in 5th and kept it floored and get to about70 or 75 and iease it in rightinfront of him. not sure why he thought he could up with a camaro but hedid. i know it nothing to be proud of, but i thought it was funny

 

how did you go about gaining speed in 5th gear at 55+ mph? in my 3.8 5th gear is unacceptable at this speed. im usually down 1500 or lower rpms, instead of gaining speed i slowly loose untill i have to downshift. and even then 4th gear is weak.

 

im not saying i gained speed quickly. in fact i gained speed very slowly. i would normally downshift but i just didnt feel like it. my 3.8 iscompletely stock butthe silverado was just that slow lol

indeed silverados are slow, i know a guy who had a 95 or so was so confident that he would smoke anything that a wheel on it. im suprised the frickin deisel didnt try to play, guess he didnt wanna express his ***** size in his already oversized truck.

 

yeah i wasnt really worried about oncoming trafic until he floored it lol. but yeah i had a 95 c2500 and it was slow as *****. had 200 hp stock and irigged a cai and added a magnaflow catback but it was still slow as *****. had enough torque to pull my house but no hp whatsoever lol

 

the funny part about the dudes rado was stock as they come, he betted my cousin 50$ he could just runaway from him ( 91 gt auto modified ) they ran them on the parkway it was no contest the gt would just simply *****slap the rado then slow down then go back at it.

im still not sure what year it was only thing i remember is it having "Mark III" on the dash. but the dumbass crammed it into a tree.


but since you said silverado im wondering if their is a fast one out their.

 

ive never met a quick silverado. dont get me wrong. i loved my truck (it was a cheyenne tho and not a silverado) but ive never seen one that is even decently fast. my dad has a titan tho and that truck will scream
