Default RSX

I have a 96 Camaro auto. 3.8 w/ Magnaflow. Some guy I go to school with has been talking **** on my car. He has an 04I believe, Acura RSX w/ 5spd. I just want know if he is a threat to me or not. I know RSX's aren't slowbut what do they have as far as hp goes?I plan on putting on new plugs, wires, and fuel filter this weekend just so my cars running as good as it possibly can.

Hmmm, really not sure. I think it will be a close race. I think you might have it though. For the most part, as rule of thumb, any vehicle that has 200HP or over can move. And RSX isn't big either, plus it's standard. I think if you make sure you get the Holeshot you might beat him. Start is always key. Practice it before you race him. And as you said, make sure you car is at optimal running performance, and maybe even get a bolt on partbefore the race.

If I remember right, only the Type-S RSXs had the better motor in them, and they had the 6 speed. The regular RSX is only making 160 horse at the crank, so just enough to do mid-high 15s in the 1/4. It would really depend on how healthy yours is running. Spray it with a 50 shot, and the deal is sealed.

same thing, get a bolt on or something. then practice brakeboosting.do a brakestand then put really good hairspray on your tires and they should stick pretty good.my boss did it in his 88 vette and his tires didnt even chirp once.

I found out that an 04 Type-S has 200hp but that doesn't matter because he just has the standard 160hp compared to my 200+hp. I also found out that his car has 141lb ft tq compared to my 225lb ft tq. But his car does weigh 585lbs less then mine. It would be a good race if he would be willing to run.

sorry bud, you're off by 10 hp on those numbers. my uncle worked for Acura (means i got to ride in a few badass NSX's) and they made 170hp in the base model and 210hp in the Type-S
