for clarities sake it should be noted that "exhaust tips" dont equal speed. could also be summed up saying "NA 4cyl" doesnt equal speed, or maybe "honda" doesnt equal speed [8D]
What about the K20 RSX type S (217 HP). And the H22 prelude (200 HP) or the B18C5 out of the integra type R(195 HP) All are ok cars and are fun to drive the Integra and the type S more than the Prelude. Now spend a 8 grand in bolt ons and the swap into a EG6 or CRX now your sitting a fun little NA 4 banger that would be a good match for a older GT. Yes 9 out of 10 times its some kid with a stock D series engine or maybe a B16 or LS swap but there are a few that have been done right and from me they get respect.

the point is that the car had a hood, wheels from pep boys, and a hood, it was obviously a stock civic otherwise. and 90 percent of imports are like this, slow and all show, not a race car. The kid is like 19, and acts like the world was fast and furious. and the cars you mentioned still are mid0high 14, not mid-low 12 as they would have you believe. if he had stuff done, turbo, he would get respect, but not like this, same for all rice boys as far as i am concerned

riceeater-And 90 percent of imports are like this, slow and all show

CBR-a good match for a older GT
riceeater-and the cars you mentioned still are mid0high 14, not mid-low 12
Specter-altho u did say only a match for an older GT

the point I am making, and i am not trying to start stuff, is that teenage kids dont build fast imports, an older gt is a slow car, compared to a lot of cars, mine is slow, but it will still take a mid-high 14 car. any car that has had a motor swap and tons of bolt on goodies, if the guy got a good car to mod, should hit 12s everyday. these import guys making these swaps are still building a mid 80s stock iroc, not a race car. If they were smart they would buy a camaro or mustang, mod the hell out of it and run 12s for the same money

Is that sarcastic, I dunno, but anyway, a riced civic that was apretty much stock motor lost to me an i went somewhat easy, an he was embarrassed, so there, and civics can be fast if you wanna invest too much money, there thats the point here

Good kill.you took on a 16 year old kid thatin a car that has a fourth of your engine. Yes he probaly needed to geta good slap on the ***. I know what you are talking about i had a 240 with a big *** wing comeflying up on me a few days ago.It wouldjust have been a waste of gas.Every one has there own thing yes i hate ricers but i dont put down the people that drive them. And every modle of car is diffrent in some way shape or form. Each with there own pros and cons. By the way 14s are not all that slow to be truth full with you even for aolder V8. And if you dont think kids can build good inports i have two old friends back home one with a turbo MR2 that him and his dad built when he was in high school and a friend with a evo 8 runing 12.4s. Both cars are inports and far from being ricers.

One of my friends puts a japanese flag sticker under his left window everytime he beats a ricer, he drives a 89 5.0 mustang. He looks like a WW2 ace, he's got like 14 kills.

i am civic owner and a daily poster at the civic forum.

It really saddens to me hear how ricers give us real civic owners bad names.
BELIEVE WHEN I SAY THIS!
that we REAL civic owners are not like that, and we know that civics are not meant to take on v6 or v8 engines.
I am a civic owner, and maybe i could be a ricer, but i love my car and doing mods to it, but taking on v6s and v8s, i know my limit

So sad how ricers give us a bad name
