So today is a damn nice day. So i was on my way to the gym (you know gotta keep in shape for the ladies ) and i look in the mirror and i see this porsche conv. pulling up on me and then right when they're on my *** they jumped in to the left lane and jump back into my lane, basically cuttign me off. and bear in mind, it was a big open road, not too many cars since its only like 1 - 1:30. so im like "wtph!" we came up to a light and i got in the other lane, the porsche dude (looked middle aged, grey hair but not like grandpa old) started looking at me and revving up his engine..nothing fantastic. it looked like a late 90s early 2000s and it was a Boxster. So im like "damn, am i gonna get killed? oh well its a nice day!" so i revved up too. i held down the clutch, got up to like 2400-2500rpm (in first), turned off traction controland on green i dumped it nicely, (got a pretty decent hook) and that was basically the last i saw him we both shot off the line, me more so.

so im drivin to the gym like on a sort of high like "haha pwned a porsche"

so then i got home after a lil and i look on the internet and see they have like a 0-60 time of like 6.X i was like "omfg..."

i was feelin pretty good about it and now

i just feel like it was just like any other ricer kill..

Some of the earlier Boxsters were only around 200-225 HP, and 0-60 was about mid 6s. They were/are fun cars, though, because they handle as well as anything out there except a Lotus. New Boxster S models do the quarter in around 13.3 though, so you have to be careful, and then of course those nasty late model Carreras (911) with an "S" designation (Carrera S or Carrera 4S) don't have a Turbo but can still get to 60 in right at 4 seconds flat: they are much quicker than their 355 HP rating has any right to be.

 

Yea, a 3.8 can possibly beat a boxster. I'm also a lover of porsches, and they are definately more focused on handling, seeing as they just recently built a production car that does 200+ mph. Granted they only put 6er's in, which 200 mph in a 6 cyl is amazing, but they've had the technology to do it for years. The 914 used to be consider the "poor mans porsche" a few decades went by and they wanted to reach that crowd again. So they built the boxters. Amazingly fun car to drive around on a nice day or cruise the ave to the local car gathering, but their straight line is def. not what they were built for.

Nice job man...i had a run in with a turbo Scabb that revved at me. his girl in the car was talking smack saying his was a turbo...blah blah. we raced and he shifted into second and i was pacing him and than I floored it and left him in the dust. i pointed and laughed at him and his girl and they wouldnt look at me.
