ok guys my buddies car just totally f'ed up, out of the blue, the trunk open button does not work it will not pop the trunk open, and all of a sudden his headunit will not power on, and to top it all off the maplights aren't working either, this is all completely spontaneous and i have no idea whats going on, i checked all fuses and they are fine, what should i do now ?

 

ah, i've had this problem before.. And, with a lot of reading and schematic reviewing, and a little rewiring my car is back to normal. With some help and work Im sure we can fix the problem. First things first, check your radio and courtesy fuses in the fuse panel. If those are both good, it could be a power wire that goes to the courtesy fuse. But to get a better idea of what we're looking at, what year is the car?

Fuse #8 & #17in instrument panel fuse block (Left side of dash, pull cover off to get to fuses,visible when left door is open).
Power path:
Fusible link (E)
Ignition switch
RAP module (if car has electric door locks)
Instrument panel fuse block.
Stay calm, your car is not ruined (yet) LOL

 

sorry about the long wait guys, i appreciate the help,
i checked all fuses in the fuse panel in the intereior and the fuse block under the hood, they are all fine and not burned out, i also pulled the head unit and the fuse is fine also.. ?
