Default I should have know it was a race magnet

So a mini Cooper (WTF? LOL, well it was the "s") tried to race me (2010 SS) onto the interstate today. I even had the inside turn lane. Good thing the speed limit is 75 here. I had to nearly slam the brakes to avoid a car that was already on the road, but I guess I got whooped since the guy just merged straight across traffic cutting all the lanes between. I got behind him to go around the car that was a little slow, pretty much just dormal driving for me now, but this Cooper was like a fly buzzing all over trying to get around everybody. Had an MR2 that wanted to play a little later on a different highway, but I was running late for an appointment and had the kids in the car so he only got a little dusting.

Like I said I should have known it was coming.

Lol i know what you mean. Back when i drove the cobra just about every day every little ricer in town would come out and want to play. I had a guy try to race me in traffic for like 10 miles. He would not leave me freaking alone.

Of course then i drive the TA and no one wants to play any more

yeah my car isnt anywhere as good as yours lol, a beat up 78 RS, but i have little civics and riced out corollas always rev up at me and try 2 race, and of course i mop up the floor with them, but again beating a 4cyl with nothing but a rear spoiler and a fart can isnt anything to brag about, but i still enjoy it =]

I think I know every car in town with a turbo now. They all pull up and do the little pssst psst BS. I called out one of them that followed me to the car wash and asked him why he was doing it and he said, cuz itz fassst. I was like ya, I only have 426 HP and a stock 1/4 mile time near ~13, maybe I should get one of those. Then we both laughed, but I dont think he got it. lol

id rather be whooped ( as you say) by a guy weaving traffic than racing cause weaving is a no no, too many cars around too much could go wrong!

The funniest thing i did once was show some guy the power, there was no way i could have a straigh up race cause it was really wet on the road after a down pour. There was this guy in a pimped up renault megane 1.9 turbo diesel (lmao). there pretty quick and can smoke some of the 4 pot civics over here so thats its status (130 bhp 250lbft) ish??.

Anyway, hes looking at the car and nodding and such and were at some lights up a hill 3 lanes, no traffic. So they go green and he boots it off the line ( he had a BOV on his diesel tub, lmao AGAIN), so he gets 2 cars in front cause i havent even pressed the go pedel yet but next light up ahead go red, so i just drive up normally, get beside him at drop it in N and give him some big revs just for laughs ( he does his phhssstt bov too). Lights go green so i plant the hammer, bear in mind its **** wet through on the road, can spins up while moving forwards a little, hits 2nd and jumps to side, he was trying to race so hes doing whatever and hes right at the side of me. Funny thing (eventually got there) is i pull about a car length ahead only by next lights, HOWEVER i did it all in second gear with wheels somking up and the car at like 40 degrees facing him , practically i won a poo car while driving sideways. Just for giggles again i did a nice burnout for him at the next lights, i like making people smile!

Sorry for thread hi-jack just thought id share the fun , it prob doesnt sound as good as it was but it still keeps me laughing now

You should be in well into the high 12s at the track. I have a friend that just took his bone stock 6 speed car to the track and ran a 12.8. I know a lot of guys are doing the free mod muffler delete since you have cats, a resonator, and muffler you can get away with it and the car doesnt pick up that much sound. Also guys are seeing good numbers with inakes and tunes on the LS3 cars. But of course you know this.
