Best race ever? Speed isn't all
OK I have to admit that this was really dumb to do, but god it was fun.
The Cars: Me 95 Camaro 3.4L
Other driver: 2005-7 Corolla Type S
I'm on my way home from OC in CA and I'm on the 405 NB. In Costa Mesa, I see this chick driving this Corolla and weaving in and out of traffic, so I decide to play along. Needless to say, that was the most fun I've had ever. 40 miles later, she gets off in Inglewood. She was really pissed off beacuse I had managed to stay ahead of her the whole time. We didn't drop below 90 mph and I used 1/3 tank of gas in that 40 miles. I even slowed down 5 times and let her pass and STILL got ahead of her.
So why? I think is was a combination of my torque that allowed my to rocket at the opportune moment. And my maneuvering. Her car should have toasted me, but throw in a little bit of lane switching (actually A LOT. We were ALL over that 5 lane freeway...) and it comes down to who's got the better "driver mod"
So for all my fellow sixxers out there: You can beat a lot of cars. Just depends on how good of a driver you are.
And I DO NOT recommend doing that. It was stupid, but god it was fun. I've jumped out of planes with the 101st and climbed mountains with the 10th (ex West Point cadet) but that was the most exhillarating thing I have ever done. Talk about an adrenaline rush...
Let me know what you think.
Please dont flame me to bad...
