Actually, we do call them police officers. All of our major urban centers... oh, sorry, I mean centres, have a dedicated police force and the RCMP are mainly seen in smaller jurisdictions and rural areas. And Ontario has a provincial police force for some reason.

It's worth mentioning that Canada is in much better economic shape than the USA, especially here- I can trip over a job that pays more than any of my friends are making, If I happened to get fired somehow from the jobs I got, I could have another one in less than a week.

We're also safer- Edmonton is known as the Murder Capital of Canada, due to a 4.3 per 100,000 rate we had in 2005- yet there are only 5 American cities (with population more than 250,000) that have a lower murder rate.

Free health care. 'nuff said. Although, I will admit it doesn't cover as much as we'd like.
