Again no one is dissing 3000GT's, they are nice cars, but the fact is they can't beat a SS or Z28 without a decent amount of mods. And not all camaro drivers have mullets. How ignorant can you be? I'm from New York, trust me no mullets around here.

 

newayz back to my camaro question..... my IROC Z28 which will need the TPI 305 taken out and a 350 550hp race engine thrown in(my friends off his drag nova).. will the tranny/rear endhold up on the IROC after the swap or should i replace them too with upgrades?

 

Definitely replace em if you're going to be putting 550hp in it. Hit up the 3rd gen section and post your question, you'll get a more detailed answer there.

 

doubt it. i doubt even the trans will hold up. and the clutch sure wont. i would deffently do driveshaft/clutch/axle, and see how the trans hold's up.

plus its an automatic , id like to have a 5/6 speed if possible how difficult would that be to convert over?

 

with that HP, im betting a auto will be faster. have to ask JD about that. he did a standard > auto conversion. i;d imagine that a auto > standard would be alot harder.

but you'd deffently need a new tranny if it's the stock auto tranny.

 

is the 350 is prolly my best bet for the swap huh seeing how theres not that much room to play with as it is wit the 305
