G8 vs S4
I know its not a camaro, but my friend wouldn't stop talking about how fast his new car was. I said really, wanna run my moms sedan. My friend got it tuned and went do a driving school. He came over one night after the tune and was saying how fast it was,so my dad and I raced him. His is a twin tubro 2003 audi S4 6-speed and a tune, and my moms stock 09 G8 GT auto. The AWD S4 could keep up till about 60-80 then the G8 would walk away. The G8 doesn't even shift into 6th till 142mph.

His turbos must not be spooling or do not exist because stock S4s those years came with the 4.2L V8 with the 7k RPM deadline. And they weren't that slow either. OR, he doesn't know how to drive because the G8s are quick, but not that quick....
Good kill either way.

Just a quick exerpt from an online mag
Either he had the pre2003 v6 tt or had the NA v8. either way they are kinda heavy and not made for drag racing. I am not too surprised by the outcome
Most importantly, the 2003 S4 is equipped with a 4.2-liter V8. It makes 344 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 300 pound-feet of torque over a broad range. Being normally aspirated, the engine should respond more quickly than the previous S4's 250-hp twin-turbo V6. Though extra weight was originally a concern, Audi says that weight-saving measures have made the V8 no heavier than the turbo V6.

Yes stock S4 that year vs G8 would go hands down to the G8. But if the S4 has TT, then that is where I am confused of the outcome.
I should have edited my last statement. G8s are quick but not quick to beat an AWD 4.2L V8 TT S4. (or so the guy claims to have).

im thinking it is more likely that there was confusion over the year or model. I would bet he has a 2002 v6 TT with 250 hp. Those are kinda cool cars, and I wouldnt mind having the patients (and the bank roll) to modify one.
we are talking about teenagers here by the sounds of it. its either factory tweaked TT cars like a stealth or VR4 or a single monster turbo replacing a DSM's OEM. I don't think i have ever seen someone in their teens with a luxury sport car that has the resources to buy all the appropriate parts to modify it. TT on a mustang or camaro is tough enough, i couldnt imagine doing it on a high end v8

Its not worth the hassle or money to TT a German sports car. They never go faster than 11s to be honest. The rare occasions that they run faster means that they bled money on the motor too. And like I said, its not worth it. Rather put money to make a 10 second LS1 by TT and do suspension because in overall reality, it WILL be cheaper, faster and easier to do.

Then that make perfect sense. I didn't expect much more than that from the G8 anyways. I could handle a stock TT S4 with a breeze. With a tune it might be a slight edge to the S4 but maybe drivers race on good track conditions.
