Both first and second gens cam in a GST FWD-turbo and the GSX-AWD turbo. The 4G63 engine in the turbo models is a strong engine and is faster then the 3.0 V6 in the 3rd gens. The 3rd gen is kind of a joke to say the least. It is rated at 205 hp at the crank but lacks torque for a mid size v6. They are also heavy and the Spyders are about 300 pounds fatter then the normal modle with the same power out put. If i am not mistaken the 3800 camaro runs it at around 3100 pounds. Thanks to a heavy rag top set up the 24valve spyder tips in at around 3600 give or take. At the end of the day the base modle V6 is faster then the more pricy Spyder due to its loaded down features.
