Corvette C6 Z06 vs Ford GT

I think if the Z06 had a better launch it would've had the GT in the second vid.

 

It looked like the ford red lighted did it show the reaction time on the clock?

 

The GT is just a slightly faster car all around, pure stock against pure stock its about a quartter to half second faster in the quarter mile and not quite ten miles per hour more top speed, with brakes just as good if not better. Handling is a toss up -- GTs have an adjustable suspension and have to be set up to handle really well-i if that's done they pretty much own a stock C6ZO6 in every category. Another point is that you can slip a smaller SCr pulley on (about $2590 bucks) and pick up nearly 10% more power. A lot of owners do that, of course.

 

That may be true, but the Ford GT costs like twice as much as a Z06, haha.

btw, car and driver tested the cars around Virgina internatinal raceway a few months ago. The Z06 was the fastest around the track.

 

The C6 Z06 has hit 10.8 in a 1/4 with only a set of slicks, otherwise it was stock. I don't know about you guys, but that sounds like a damn fast car stock to me!

 

yeah, unless something changed recently on the gt, in tests the z06 ran better in the quarter than it did, and the z06 top speed quoted there was inthe final drive gear, its actually slightly faster in 5th than 6th
