He should not beat the camaro off the line. And if he is running slicks on a stock cobalt drive line it might last 3 passes.

Thats funny because i know guys that are busting transmissions after 10-15 hard passes on bone stock stage 0 cars on factory tires. But what the hell do i know[>:].

RE: Cobalt SS supercharged
There are a number of reasons. Mind you as i said HARD PASSES. The cobalt has a large issue with traction and wheel hop and treads a thing line from braking lose and bogging. I watched one guy fry his clutch after 8 passes on a brand new car. Two weeks latter he was back and after a few more passes blew the transmission. I also have a friend that i work with that owns a SC cobalt and i have driven the car on more then a few weekends. He also le me make a few passes at the track with it. His transmission lasted about 17,000 miles of driving and maybe 20 passes. We also have a friend that is running at the same track that had to rebuild after his forth trip to the track and is now running well into the low 13s with his current set up. But like i said what do i know?

To answer your question its more of a problem in the SC/SS then the newer Trubo/SS the transmission in the newer car is beffed up and a new suspension is in place to help kill the wheel hop. If i had to take a guess as to what is killing the tranys i would say it is directly related to just that and if i wanted to make one last on the track killing the wheel hop would be my first goal.
