Cobalt SS

RE: Cobalt SS
My brother has a Cobalt SS with the supercharger(some SS 's were not sc) it would run in the high 9.3s but mainly in the 9.4s. The first gear ratio is to high in my opinion very hard to get traction. The are a very interesting car the ecotec in them is different than the normal one I believe they are only 2.0 liter and the engine was ether a GM partenership with Saab or is a Saab engine. We found the Saab name under the plug cover. Those engines have a ton of potential and I think GM turbo charged them for the Solstis? My brother has had the car for a couple of years now very little problems with it(its seen over 140mph). My older brother is going to bring down the Porsch 944 turbo for a match race this summer I would like to see the Cobalt win but after driving both the moneys on the Porsch.

RE: Cobalt SS
Ok im not sure if this is right but i was driving down the road (2 lane) and i seen a cobalt ss that was supercharged. so i was like wth lets see what it has got. So i rolled my window down and told him lets go. he looked at me and laughed. so i kicked it in nuetral really quick gave him a rev. When i had 80's series flowmaster (sounded like ****). i was like lets go he was like watever. So we both slowed down to about 30 mph. And i put my hand out the window and said 3 2 1 on 1 we both went. well it ended up i blew his doors off. i have a 95 3800 series II. with that **** exhaust at the time. A cold air and a set of new tires. To me this didnt seem right i know i hit a 105 and it looked like he was still going. idk if he was just playing with me or if i actually blew his doors off. Seems to me like he was playing with me.

RE: Cobalt SS
I would guess he wasnt really running it, I would think at best it would have at least been close the Cobalt will do 0 to 60 in less that 6 seconds... at least according to the gtec.

RE: Cobalt SS
Yeah u cant get a Cobalt SS but its not supercharged and has a 2.4 engine in it. There are a ton of those running around here. They have the same body kit and everything. If you race a supercharged one you'll know it. The charger screams even with the stock intake. But its 10x louder with a cold air intake on it.

RE: Cobalt SS
35 HP diffrence and the SC has a lot more low end then the 2.4. It is a fun car too drive. And for the size its a great ride gets about 27 mpg too. Not bad
