okay...i got this guy who keeps saying his truck is so fast. he's got an 04 2500hd with the duramax diesel in it. he doesn't know i have my 97 ss and just keeps saying how fast his truck is. i have no idea if he's got any mods and i know i don't. he claimed he beat an 04 cobra. i really want to put him in his place but dont' need to hear him talk if he did beat me. what do you guys think?

 

Depending on how thatdeisel is tuned, it can make a bunch of extra torque and power by just upping the turbo boost and fuel delivery.

 

id say hes full of poo. its very possible for those trucks to be fast, but hes probably blowing smoke. those turbo diesels feel very fast.

a guy I work with was talkin up his vortech silverado with the big engine... like around 7.4L or something. said he had a chip and it was set to go 160 mph. hed beaten vettes. I drove his truck to the shop one day and it was such a pig. no pull at any rpm

 

those trucks have gobs of torque. hed beat you off the line, then you would kill him. I have a guy with a F250 power stroke talkin the same **** to me, it runs like 14. 60s at the closest strip from here

I'd laugh if he actually had a tune and propane injection in it and he whipped your ***. There are a lot more of these fast diesels out there than most people think. If it's stock you will kill it but remember your a 14 second car, it does not take that much to be faster than that.

I had a king ranch ford keep up with me on the high way and you could have knocked me over with a hand full of peanuts. i dont know what he had done but he had something done.

 

i didn't think jd was harsh...he was just being honest. i know my car isn't that fast and i guess i didn't know it was so easy to make diesels go faster. i'll have to ask about mods before i line up with him
