Yea, I thought it was pretty funny that we both used a 50k RPM motor for an example.

Well if he knows how to drive he wont be having turbo lag as hell be in the right gear for his speed.

gear doesnt have much to do with turbo lag. it's mainly about WOT. so he's gonna wanna start his motor around 3500(whatever gear that is) and brake boost the **** out of it.

but the fact remains that you have lots more cylinders to play with if you mod heavily. A badass 4 from the factory is just that. You start making more power, and drivability on the street starts nose-diving pretty quickly. Where when you have more displacement and 2 cylinder banks to play with, you can effectively make twice the power before you run into those drivability issues.
All I have to say to that one is European engineering. How many cylinders do they run in a Porsche? Its not 8.

yea, but a porsche cant push much, and honestly, neither can alot of euro cars. they're radical cars.. in stock form, and im talking supercars. a bigblock V8 has the most potential out of any motor out there.

Quite a few Ferrari's, Jag's, and Aston Martin's use V8's as well.

As well as the new BMW M3, the Audi RS4 and the Audi R8. The new M3 has tuned long tubes from the factroy[:-]

I agree that a V8 has the most potential, hell the fastest accelerating vehicle on the planet uses it!

Yenko, I don't think you 100% understand what turbo lag is...it's not a matter of WOT, it's not a matter of RPM. More or less it has to do with engine load, due to the fact that you must have exhaust flow to spool a turbo, and flow is determined by heat differentials, the more heat that's in the exhaust, the quicker the car is going to be able to spool the turbo. Granted it's not 100% based on engine load, because you need to have a certain amount of volume of exhaust as well.
