Cool 95 Z/28 vs modded SRT-4

95 Z/28 M6 Convertible
vs
Modded Dodge Neon SRT-4 (upgraded turbo)

So I was out to get gas and I came along this SRT-4 Neon. What caught my attention was the fact that it was not riced out at all... In fact it looked completely stock. So I ask the guy what he's got done to it, and he says he's upgraded the turbo.

So we do a roll race from 30 to 95.

We were dead even until about 80. Each would drop back a little because of the shifting. At around 80, I was still in 4th and pulling HARD at about 4000 RPMs, I then shifted into 5th and started to creep away until we shut down at around 95.

It was actually pretty cool hearing my LT1 with no muffler against the turbo. What is really surprising is the fact that we were so evenly matched. Gotta give the SRT-4 props.

Fun race.

And to end it on a really fun note, 4 nights previous to that, I roll raced 3 SN95 Rustanks on the freeway and walked away from them. As in by the time I hit 90, I was a good 15 car lengths ahead. I LOVE my LT1!! Can't wait till I get LE2 heads with a mild cam, Pacesetter longtubes and my GMMG!! >

Tell me what y'all think.

And as always:

KILL RUSTANKS!!!

When I first got my car, my buddy had his rich parents buy him his SRT-4. We were both completely stock. The only thing he had was a bigger blow off valve.

From a stop to 130, we were side by side the whole way. Like you said, we creeped a little back and forth. I got him big time off the line, but when he would spool up, he pulled up but then I would shift and walk a little, then he would spool up. It was sick! Mine is a 96 LT1 A4.

You would be crying every 30K when you have to change the turbo seals.... And have to keep making sure all the piping is secure because it is flimsy from the factory. Modding it would be a must to eliminate all the flaws, but then it would not get over 30mpgs either way. And the brakes are crap because they still don't upgrade to bigger discs, and the tires are puney so they wear quickly.... Other than that, great car!
