i have a 95 firebird formula and there is this kid with a 01 camaro ss vert and he thinks its the fastest car in the world both cars are stock but what would it take to beat him i know i have the lt1 and he has the ls1 but i was thinking just some LT headers mid pipe cat back and a cold air intake and some decent tires but arent the convertibles heavier? and he has a system so i know im lighter by a little bit at least but any info is appreciated

 

If you go full boltons you can at least make the race interesting.

 

As spec said you will need to be at least fully bolted to make it a race. He may be a little heavy but odds are he has a few less miles and probably a little less where in tear.

Yep. add all the things people have said to you together, and you have a winning equation!

full bolt-ons + lose as much weight as possible + gears (if you didn't include that in bolt-ons) = possibly a win!

 

going from bone stock to all those bolt-ons isn't going to be cheap or quick, so the race is probably going to have to wait until next summer either way

 

i personally do not believe you need full bolt ons to beat him. and in a race it depends on what tranny you both have and how good of a driver you each are. i'd say full exhaust and cold air will make it interesting
