Tammy, we're not trying to push you away, but you have the same basic thread in multiple places, which is technically against the rules, and the fact that you're new doesn't mean that you can freely violate rules because it is assumed that you read the forum rules before joining. That being said, you shouldn't feel too bad about loosing to the vette in corners. Although you have more power than a 1984 Corvette, your suspension setup isn't nearly as good. The 1983 and 1984 Corvettes were the best handling factory Corvette made up until 1997 when the C5 came out, and even then it's a close match in cornering ability between the two (until you get into the C5 Z06, which handles better). More power doesn't necessarily mean faster, part of it is how you put the power to the ground. What you really need is to stiffen up your suspension and try to reduce weight as well as body twist. Wider and stickier tires will help as well.
