^^^^ nobody rates at the wheel. all ratings, even the grossly erroneous ls1 ratings, were intended to be interpreted as crank. in the same platform, any differences in power can be accredited to intentional marketing ploys.


the older ones were in the 280s, the newer ones rated around 300, that is not at the wheels, or at lease i pray to god it isnt since the things arent that heavy and run 14s....
im pretty sure BMW and V-dub rate at the wheels. not positive though.

i know bmw doesnt. the 333hp M3 was a crank rating. I also doubt vw does. people speculate from time to time, but i dont think there has ever been a rating from the factory for the wheels. usually because the factories test the motor on an engine dyno during developement, so there is little need for a chassis dyno measurement as well

LS1 is a better engine that responds to mods very well.

dude the lt1 is a great engine as well and he might be able to acheive wat he wants wit the car he already has

The forum is acting up again. spec is right all engines are rated at the crank VW and BMW are the same way. The LT1 is a great engine and with supporting mods can be a good run for the LS1 [>:]

Those r the specs for a base 350^...
That's really depressin for me,
bein a v6 guy myself...
I've got an extra .3 liters and a whole 116 fewerhp stock!!!

And that's REALLY embarassing for us Mustang guys...
The new GT is a f#ckin v8 with 6 fewer horses than a 3.5 v6...
