Last night i was out cruising around and i saw a 350z. If you have read my thread about the civic SI that dudes dad drives a 350Z. When i saw the Z i thought it was him so just to play around i there up a rev as i went by. Well turns out it wasn't him. i pull over and he comes next to me.

"Whats up bud?" i say. He says "well uhh, you threw up a rev back there. You looking for a race? he says. I say "You want to? " We both agree to race out of the county. We drive to 5 miles out of the county on a back road. He comes next to me and my buddy in the car with me yells "three honks then go!" I honk, 3-2-1-GO!

Off from 25 roll and floor it and it shifts fast i look next to me and the Z is right next to me for a while. 60 comes up fast and he pulls away. We finally get to 110 and i draw the line and back off. He was about half a car in front of me. The dude beat me! I pull over and shut my car off and wait for him to come over. . He stops and i walk up to the car and talk to him for a sec. He has a 6 speed. Now don't get me wrong, he beat me that time. But I'm pretty sure that if i raced him a few times I'm sure i could take him. All and all it was a fun night.

 

wat kinda times does ur car run i went up against a 350z at the track and the guy had no chance he was runnin in the 14s all night so i believe u coulda had him if u raced again

My sister has one, a 6 speed with a cold air intake. She has about 310 or 315 horsepower I'm guessing. It's freakin quick. He have any mods? What year is your car?

 

my car is pretty much stock(96 Z28), diffrent intake but thats it. I think his car was stock..

 

Hmm unless shehas the nismo its more like 280ish. I think the new one's are rated at 307 at the crank.

 

I'm pretty sure it's 300 to the wheels. The autos are 287 and the 6 speeds are 300

 

^^^^ nobody rates at the wheel. all ratings, even the grossly erroneous ls1 ratings, were intended to be interpreted as crank. in the same platform, any differences in power can be accredited to intentional marketing ploys.


the older ones were in the 280s, the newer ones rated around 300, that is not at the wheels, or at lease i pray to god it isnt since the things arent that heavy and run 14s....

 

btw, what do u drive redstar?
