Default 2010 SS vs 02 SS?

I just got my car.. 02 SS 70k slp lid,k&n filter, smooth bellow, e-cutout and a lm2.

Friends dads car: 2010 SS 6spd with magnaflow muffler.

He keeps talking **** about how I should have bought a Real camaro and his is fast because he got a 6spd and a magnaflow muffler lol..

So would I pull him or would it be pretty even? Im on 275 BFG in the rear.

This will be at royal purple in houston hopefully this weekend

Well, if he wants a "real" Camaro, tell him to look at a 1st gen. But in reality, they're all really Camaros...except maybe the I4 3rd gens. They're questionable.

Any ways, he will win. Might be close off the line depending on how good he is with a clutch. I'm assuming you have an automatic. You can always brake stand. But in the end, there's a 99% chance he'll win.

:O its Maven!!

Eh, I don't know about him winning Mk. I still think that the 02 has a chance because he does have an electric cut out. I know this guy that comes in with his WS6 auto and all he had done is MSD and catback and at the strip he pulls 13.0 everytime. And his T/A has over 150k on the original motor, trans and rear end....

Even though the new 5th gens are pretty fast, they are a tad bit more heavier than a 4th gen and average drivers tend to be in the 13.3s on the 5th gens.

if I was a betting man and when it comes to racing I generally am, I'm siding with the 4th gen. I think there are too many variables including the fact that the 10' has IRS and a stick vs. a bfg tired solid axle 4th gen with an automatic.

It might be close, but I still think the '10 will win and I don't even like the 5th gens! I agree with you on the weight, which is one reason I don't like them. Just too...bulky looking...where else the fourth gen looks like a stream line butterfly.

Remember, its an LS1 not an lt1 so that is why I am betting the 02 will win. It will run more consistent times.

This is a tough one. I mean if you ask me I would say although the 5th gens are real camaros and I do kinda like them, I would say since the 4th gen is still an f-body it is more camaro then a 5th gen. On the racing part tho I think the '10 will win in a closer then the experts predict race (unless he can't drive). But for the sake of 4th gen pride race and I will pray for your victory.

My bet is of pure satisfaction of seeing the look of sore losing on the 5th gen owner. That way, next time the noob talks, he should learn to look unbiased. But hey, who knows, it may actually be close??
