The other night Ifinally got my buddy to run me in his GTO. To his suprise and mine, I beat him by a car and a half. We raced from a dead stop and when i honked the third time he jumped me by a car and a half. He prestaged as where i didnt. He was ahead until i hit third gear then i walked on by him. Anyone ever race a GTO??

 

good kill did the 05 GTO come with the LS1 or Ls2?

 

05 comes with the 400 hp, 04 is 350

 

If its a 05 it should be the LS2. You should have got him off the line but still a good kill. The GTO is Heavy and even with the LS2 only pulls midto high13s. From a roll a stock Fbody can run side by side with her. And given you have a SLP camaro i would say you had the better hand. I ran a LS2 at the track about two weeks ago. Cool guy. He had Intake, Headers, Exhaust. I ran with nobottle. Off the line i pulled about a half a car and then pulled away to run a 13.203 he ran a 13.42. As far as the LS1 GTO goes its a little slower with out the extra power of the LS2 it only pulls high 13s on a good day.

 

His Gto has the ls2 and the only other mod is the k&n air filter. All i can tell about my car is that i have put 373 gears and thats its been lowered. Does anyone know what all the slp mods are on a factory slp camaro??

 

nothing really. it doesnt really help you over having a regular SS or even a z. SLP gave it some better shocks, but that obviously didnt play a role here since you had to run him down.

 

i think the only reason i had to run him down was cause i didnt prestage as where he did. were goin to the dragstrip on sunday and were gonna run a couple of times and im gonna get it on video. I try prestaging then

 

I know. But once you guys are rolling your suspension isnt helping you much. he got the better launch regardless of reasons, so the slp package doesnt account for the fact that you beat him

 

Cool, im pretty sure that im gonna take him at the dragstrip too. Alot of people in my are didnt beleive me till he said that i did. I cant wait to get it on video of me beating his GTO

 

ya youll probly get him like many other recent muscel cars the new GTO suffers from a heavy body around a good engine ......sounds like the story of my life
