I didn't cut the cat but I just had a tuneup with all new stuff and now my caracts like it was new. Anyone who doubts it, I dont think I like your attitude. Plus when I say stock thats cause I know all that I have done to it, I have haved a person who worked for the chevy dealer for 20+ yrs andsaid that my exaust dose not sound stock but I couldn't feed you a line of bull saying i had flowmastersor anything else like that cause I don'tknow.Ughhhhhhhhhhh bad *** maro. OK guys let get some facts straight in here. First a well drivin S197 GT is a mid/high 13 car all day, a buddy of mine went 13.4 in his when it was bone stock, yes he is an above average driver but there are PLENTY of them run 13.6 or so.
Second, yes the the kill could have happened, anything can happen out on the street, but to the OP, dude if your going to post kill stories, put a little more effort into it, and realize that the outcome of this one particular race is not what will typically happen.

Its true there are some good drivers that can pull off high 13s but most have a problem breaking the 13s. Most stock GTs run in the low 14s even with a expert driver in the 5 speed its hard to pull 13s. And thats giving the guy can drive. I guy that goes to the track with me he has a 2005 with K&N intake, Headers, BBK cat H pipe, SLP catback, And tuner on stock 245s the best i have seen him pull is a 13.7 the worst a 14.1. I ran a near stock 5 speed 2006 he was runing 14.2s. Yes the car can do it but 9 out of 10 drivers cant. The GT is week out of the hole even with a good driver. It could happen. I hear what you are saying too.
this is just wrong. the s197 GT will pull mid 13s at normal elevation. are you in the mountains or something? 13.6-13.8 is not too difficult to do in those cars especially given their suspension setup. its very forgiving and I have seen guys pull 1.9 60' on street tires many times. as for the lt1 pulling <2.0, i havent seen that without at least DR's. The hole shot is what has always kept the mustang in the running performance wise. they just launch harder than fbodies. And the lt1 is not some humongous torque monster, i dont know why everyone claims itout torques everything down low.

LOL i love you too specter. Near fort braggNC the 2 stock GTs i have seenat the trackran low 14s. Now its hot as helldown hereand we sitata fair elevation.I have never seen a stock GT run any higher than a high 13s but thats just me.I know that people have run 13.0s and better with freaky stock f-bodys but for the most part i see 13.3s-13.5s down here. When i was near stock just a air box and cat back on 275 nitto 555Rs i was only pulling 13.1s. I alsoknow i ran one at the trackon saterdaydont know if he was bone stock or not but out of the hole i jumped out way ahead. He ran a 14.4. Latter onwe ranagain this time i didnt pull away as hardoff the lineas i did the first time but he still only ran a 14.2. I dont know about a stock GT runing mid 13s. Maybe if it was like 50 out side and it was a pro driver with some good rubber under her. Specter is normaly on the money on things like this so i could be wrong.
