So i haven't been on in a long *** time because well i've been around riding in my friends new gto. It's so badass to. It's completly stock and is clearly one of the fastest cars i've ever rode in. It has the ls2 which makes 400hp but i been hearing people talk about how the ls1 camaro's/trans am's can keep right up with it and beat it most times. Now htis doesn't make any sense to me. Any Suggestions?

 

the GTO is very heavy and has a crappy version of IRS. weak launches and has to lug its own heavy *** around. I dont know about keeping right up, but they are unimpressive for a 400hp car IMO

 

The LS1 GTO is crap its 400 pounds heaver then the Fbody. The LS2 might have 75 or so horses on the Fbody but its still heavy. I ran a ls2 at the track the guy ran a 13.7 From a roll the LS2 could be a good race but i think the fbody will probaly take it at higher speeds.

 

The GTO suffers from the same problem the Charger has. GOOD ENGINE HEAVY *** CAR

 

a guy at my work has a 06 gto and ran a 15.3 given thats at altitude buuuuuut still

 

yea the only way i could figure that out is that the car is heavy as ****. Im looking into selling my car and buying a 02 trans am 6-speed. You think this could keep right up from a 40 roll or so. My frineds S2000 keeps up with his car from a 40 roll.

 

i have a 99 ls1 camaro and i raced an 06 gto and was running away from him but i missed 4th gear cause i let the clutch out before i locked it into gear
