Auto lift
I have been keeping an eye out on craigs list for a long time for a lift. Since I am not sure I am staying where I am at I want one that did not bolt down and had limited lift since I just have 9ft ceilings.
I found one today. I did not want a china knock off. I wanted a good soild lift. Wow did I find one. Infact weight is its biggest downside. It is a body shop lift so pulling transmission while using it is not going to happen.
Vehicle Lifts - Herkules L1200S Lift
I have to rent a trailer and go pick it up tomorrow. It is a 2003 model but this german company loves to brag about how long their lifts last. We will see.
The guy I am buying it from had it outside so it is a little rusty. Once I get some time this will become the project thread for the restoration.

OMG this thing is heavy, It has got to be close to 1000lbs. I had help loading and we where just transfering it from one trailer to the other. Get it out of the at home involved a 20 HP tractor, two floor jack 3 dollies and a engine lift. The company lists it as portable, LOL maybe if I was green with anger issues, I just have the anger issues.
It is missing some wear pads on the sliders, I will need to make some new one so I could not lift a big car today. But I did lift a little one which made my son very happy
I got some work to do

Not the best picture. I was a little worried how fast it would be work with a 110v compressor but it is fine. Takes a little over a Minute to rise the car.
Don't mine my 2x4's I need to grab some wheel locks.

Here is a better pic, Once my 93 is done the lift itseal will get restored. The thing is really solid and rasies the car so that the roof is only 12" from the ceiling.

I think I may be able to cut clearance in this lift to cleat the transmission but I am not sure I want to I don’t remove engines and trannys that often from Camaros. 95% of the time I am working on a car its brakes or engine. It is perfect for FWD cars.
It is sold as a body shop lift.
