Default how to handle stripped bolts in between sizes

Hey all so I did some work on my girl's explorer and there was this one bolt that was so rusted on so bad it wouldn't budge and I ended up stripping it with the wrench, after trying everything I ended up busting out my sawzall and simply cut the head off the beast and knocked it out of the hole.

How do you guys generally handle stupid stubborn bolts that are stripped and in between sizes so a wrench won't fit and are at an awkward place where you can't get like a crescent wrench on to fit well enough that it won't slip off??

Take a sharpened cold chisel and position it on the head of the bolt, off to the left side and angled a little upward (tip down, hammer end up). Don't let it slip, and give it one good whack with a hammer to try and spin it counter-clockwise. It might help to first give it a couple little hits to make a dent for the chisel to make a dig mark. If it doesn't loosen, do it again. I've gotten a number of rounded bolts, and lock lug nuts (lost key) off that way.

+1 to that. also, an impact driver and socket is nice if you can get it in there, especially for phillips head fasteners. if all else fails and its something you need removed, weld a nut to the head of the bolt
