Need paint info?
I am not sure what part of LA you are in, but I had my 68 Camaro painted at a shop in Fullerton, CA. (North Orange County)
The name of the shop is Rick's Kustoms and Rick is the sole employee...yes a one man shop...
He has over 30 years experience in paint and body and even taught it at a local community college.
I am completely satisfied with his work, and I am a perfectionist when it comes to paint jobs.
He charged $3,500 for the job and used quality PPG basecoat/clearcoat. This included adding a black bumblebee stripe under the clear. Keep in mind that I kept the original Ash Gold color, pulled off all of the chrome and trim myself, and there was very little bodywork to do...just a lot of block sanding...
Here is a pic of my car...but let me know if you are in the Orange County area and I will show you the car....

It all depends on the work that needs to be done. It may cost a little more, as stated above, due to you changing from the original color. This will require alot more "cut-ins"
Also removing all trim, Handles, lock cylinders... yourself will save alot of labor also.
We have sprayed a good amount of 70's to 80's corvettes for around 3 to 5 thousand, also usually PPG. This included cutting and buffing the clear. For the "glassy" look.
