I looked at DMH, but with my collectors exposed I didn't want the big square transmission they have on the side showing, plus the 1 year less warranty.

Seems the repro Cobras are going strong as we saw probably a dozen of them around the show, but no real ones. Tons of roadsters rom the 30's, and hundreds of muscle cars. Saw a few really unique builds like a 1951 Henry J that had a tilt glass frontend and was sitting on a Viper chassis. Only thing that was still Henry J was the body, and it was flawless.
Only 4 old gassers, and those were all our club members.
The Wed. night drags were also going, so part of the $5 entry gets us into the drags for free too! Some very fast cars running! Saw a '61 Chevy with a BBC in it running 5.0 in the 1/8th mile, and lifting the wheels every launch. Also a Mercedes 380SL with BBC that got into the high 4 sec. times! Loved the racing!

Hated what I built on the cutouts, so chopped them off and just welded on some short stubs. cleaner, and less fugly looking.

Val,

I went to the annual employee's car show at the GM tech center in Warren Michigan yesterday. There were a few Cobra replicas but on had a sign "there's nothing kit about this car". It was a cherry 1966 AC Cobra. I told my wife that there was probably $1M+ sitting there. Just as I was about to head out I met the owner of a ZL1 that he'd just rolled over 3K miles. A beautiful black ZL1! Some awesome cars......and a few not so good.....lol. I can't remember when I've seen so many Corvettes of every vintage. Mostly GM cars but quite a few others, even a few foreign ones.

I know a guy who bought a 1964 or 65 Cobra used when it was about 7-8 yrs. old. He gave $9,000 ffor it, and he told me his wife pitched a fit. She was so mad she wouldn't let him put her name on the title at the time. Many years later when she kept hearing guys tell her husband how valueable the car is she asked him, "Is my name on the title of the Cobra?"
Pretty funny how she decided she liked it once it increased in value to a large amount!
