Yeah I was thinking about doing that but I'm still thinking of getting a 455 for it in the future to make some better horsepower. I didn't know the intakes were that cheep though so maybe I'll pick one up. Thanks for the link.

So I got most of the stuff installed on the engine this weekend. It was a bit of a pain had to combine the starters from both engines cause there were a few frozen nuts on the studs so I had to switch them out. I still got a few things to hook up before its done. Such as vacuum lines, belts, spark plug wires, ect. I'll get some pics up when it's done. Once it's running I gotta get it over to my dads shop to get a full exhaust installed.

Well I got everything hooked up last night and tryed to get it running. It would Run but only when I squirt gas in the carb. So I disconnected the fuel line and found some brown water trickle out. The guy I bought it said he flushed the lines and drained the tank before he sold me it. Guess not. So once I take care of that it should be fine. It ran nice when I squirted gas in manually so that's good.

Hope that ugly brown stuff didn't get pumped into the carb while trying to run it! You might want to pull the carb also, and make sure you dump any fuel (gunk) out of it too!
Sure looks nice though!

So I pulled the gas tank out yesterday. Pulled out the sending unit and it was covered in rust. Had a look in the hole and it was pretty crusty rusty too. So I'm going to have to order a new tank and sending unit.

Yeah it just makes little things a pain cause your hands are sooo cold. I've been thinking maybe I'll put my fire pit next to it and start working again.

I have a friend that had to work on his ride outside so he bought one of those portable carport.... the one with the windows and zip down doors. he bought it primarilly to protect his car from the rain but when it got cold he put an electric heater in one end of it and it keep the whole thing warm while he was out working on it. said it was awesome. it looks like this...

he bought it used on craigslist for next to nothing. anyway, just an option.
