BasicConcepts JDM Prelude build thread
got started on the rebuild today, got the bottom end about 90% done. gunna grab a bite to eat and finish her up. if all goes well ill have the engine done tonight and back in the car tomorrow
pics will defiantly be coming soon. right now im trying to figure out how to get the old intake gasket off the head. i used a wire wheel and got the majority of it off but cant get up to the studs. any one got some "old timer tricks"?
A razor blade works well. I've had to use an exzato knife on a few of my dirtbike rebuilds just because of how close the studs are to one another.
Make sure to not force it as you might shave aluminum off with the old gasket. I've done that aswell.

Well I got the bottom end 99.9% done, somehow I lost the woodruff key for the crank so tomorrow I gotta go get a new one to get the pulleys on. Than its just the head and putting it in the car, my goal is to be driving the car by 3.
Ohh and in case anyone wants to know advance auto has oil change specials for 11.99$ for 5 qts of store brand oil and a drive works filter

Well like an idiot I forgot to get my injectors from my buddy (he happen to have a set of 345cc obd1 injectors that he gave me) so I'm at a stand still. All that's left to do is the fuel rail and the upper intake. I'll post up some pics when I get on a computer.
heres some pics
