Are you running NA or Nitrous with the 4.56s.

Its NA on a 1/8th mile track with 10 x 29 slicks. I hooked up the second stage to the rev limiter at the end of the season it seemed to bring the converter up to the 3500 rpm stall alot better it even had some light under the front tires a few times. The new engine should be over 500 hp I am going to try out the 4.56 gears with it and see what it does and go from there. A friend of mine(daZ28 he used to post here some) has gone through the transition of N/A smallblock to Nitrous smallblock to Nitrous Scott Scofield big block (ran low 8s 1/4) to a Transfer Machine 630 something three stage Nitrous engine (should be in the 7s 1/4 mile this year) his gears started with 4.88s with the smallblock and now I believe he is in the 3.60s I am guessing he is over 1500 hp. In the process he tore up a GM rear end switched to the ford 9 inch sent the pig section of the 9 inch across the track, he now runs some sort of aftermarket pro built 9 inch ford varient.

Well with 4.56s and a well built 12 bolt you should see a little more then just a little light under the tires as long as you have the power to pull it up. 4.56s are a good gear for the 1/8th. Im not sure about running the 9inch up that high. Sure you might be able to build one to take it but i would probably go Dana at that point. For my application the 12 bolt will be more then i ever need or at least in the near future

Update:
Purchased what should be the last few items
MSD Wires
NGK TR6's plugs
GM 2 Bar MAP
2001 GM PCM (for SD tune) 2001 and up PCM is more tuning friendly for the SD
We are going to run the SD (speed density) tune vs the MAF. This should allow for more control over AFR vs Boost.

Nice. I don't remember reading if you finally decided on a stall speed, so what'd you end up with?

Due to the 60 trim flating out so bad above 5200 and the valve trains ability to make power a lot higher. I am swaping out to a 67 here in the next few days. That is if my hood ever comes in . Also triming the rear plastic and caliper to make room for the 28 M/Ts and puting the old girl on a 250 pound diet

So far the best run was a 11.6@115 with a 1.65 60 it was a little on the hot side and the track sucked but all and all the car did well. Traction was a issue with the MT 35/315 DR's but i will be buying a new set for the street. I would recomend them to any one buiding a mean street car!!!

I will keep posting up as we try to make the 500 wheel mark with good conditions we will hit 10s or at least blow the 346 trying oh yes i see a rebuild coming very soon

Sounds awesome! Do you plan on running more boost, or is it staying at 8 for right now?
