TC and nitrous
Keep thinking about it. Just remember that by hanging the turbo at the end of a 20 foot pipe, by the time the exhaust gets there it will have lost most of its heat and seriously contracted thus reducing the pressure available to spin the turbo.
I asked my friend about this (who works at sk-speed, a performence shop by me)and he thinks the STS tubro is better than mounting it the frontof cars with a block bigger than a 302.
1. There's not as much heat being push into the engine, and since the tubro is rear mounted, cooler air is now being forced in. 2. The tubro will stay 250-500 degrees cooler than a front mounted turbo, therefore not as much stress and long lasting life. 3. denser exhaust gasses to drive the turbo turbine wheel more efficiently. 4.it hasbuilt in intercooling from the heat dissipation through the charge air tubing thatislocated out of the engine compartment and exposed to ambient air. 5. the front is too cluttered, therefore it is cheaper and less labor to mount it in the rear.
He thinks its better with the STS turbo rather than a procharger. He said the only difference is power off the line. However he said the STS will give around the same power but its a cheaper set up. Also to have the tubro front mounted requires alot of custom work and will be extremly costly. So this he what he told me, now im totally up in the air on what im gonna do lol.
