Well I'm Attempting Something I Have No Knowledge Of Again. I'm Gonna Put Together A Wet Nitrous System Out Of Parts I'm Purchasing Off Ebay. First ... On A Square Bore Nitrous Plate, Do The Jets Slide Into Plate Nozzles? Are They Flare Or Funnel Jets? Do All Square Bore Plates Use The Same Size Fittings 4AN? Do All Solenoids Have The 1/8 Inch Inlet And Outlet? Since I'm New To Nitrous Should I Try And Fool With A Full Throttle Switch Or Use A Switch To Activate It Manually? Is It Better To Mount The Solenoids Close To The Plate Or Can They Be Mounted Anywhere? Does A System With A Square Bore Plate Need A Purge Valve? Approximately How Much Nitrous (in Pounds) Is Used To Make One 1/4 Mile Run At 150 HP? Is There Anything I Need To Pay Particular Attention To? Should I Try And Stick With One Brand Of Parts ( NOS, ZEX, NE )? Thanks In Advance. Sick

 

I put mine together the same way, it's a mixture of NX and NOS mixing is no problem except with the jets some are not interchangeable. You should be able to get a plate/jets together, new for $125. Not all plates use -4AN fitthings some are -3AN.The jets slide into the plate and the hose end will actually hold it in place. Flare or funnel depends on manufacturer, I beleive and is why some are not interchangable. Not sure about the solenoid in/outs. I prefer to use a WOT switch and a button so that both must be activated but at least go with a WOT if not both. As far as where to mount solenoids I am not sure as I mounted them on a carb bracket. I think anywhere within a foot or two is ok. I would recomend a purge valve on any system (harder more consistant hit). I would say a bottle should last about 10-12 runs depending on how much you use it throughout the run. Make sure you do not hit it below 2K and don't put the bigest jets in first start with the smaller ones and work your way up. I like NX but that's just me....

use a full throttle switch....just remember when placing solonoids....the closer you have them the harder the hit. if you want to soften
the hit cause you have traction issues use longer lines from the solonoids to the plate. you shouldn't need a purge...i used to crack the line before i shut my hood and went to the staging lanes....make sure you have 900 to 950psi of bottle pressure. you should be good for 3 to 4 runs on a full bottle...any more than that switch bottles. i prefer nitrous express.

 

I've heard that a purge wastes more nitro than warrants it's use. Never used it myself, but have heard that all you'll see is few hundreths on a purged-before-run vs non-purged, and if you don't have too long of a wait between runs it's pointless. All it does is blow the atmosphere out of the lines and makes a cool effect.
