impossible the farther the turbo is from the manifold the more delay there will be. I have driven the sts kit on both 370z and a mustang and in both cases in 4th gear at 2500 when you go WOT the boost barley moves until like 3200. Granted in a lower gear the engine will accelerate fastest but that only masks the spooling delay. Don't get me wrong mufflers turbos are better than no turbos at all but the proper way to do it is get the turbos right up on the manifolds were they belong. Plus you don't suck water from behind the rear wheels

not looking for a fight - just calling it like i see it. Saw a TT STS at SEMA this year - piping everywhere and even they agreed there was a delay

A better question is why are you looking to turbo a car for autocross. How are you going to control a 800hp forced induction car on a tight and narrow course. Its easy for the stock LS3 to over power and tax the rear tires. More importantly how are you going to keep the engine and drive line in one peace. I would think a good NA set up would be a fraction of the price and way more manageable.

STS set ups are good for the money but for 15K I would be investing in a magnacharger or wipple set up and then focusing on getting the car to turn and not roll.

I would debate the rear mount theory..But its all about how its piped and sized..My Tahoe has NO lag at all and is super fast for what it is and thats on 5 psi..it put down over 100 more HP at the rear with only 5psi and i can spool by the end of my driveway and its mounted by the rear spare..Made the kit myself and have less than $1000 in it tuned but hey i pulled some strings to hit that number..

A lot comes down to tuning and cam choice. A good Turbo cam with HP tuners/EFI live makes all the difference. My 60 trim set up had no lag and my 76 trim was manageable for a stock cubic inch motor.
