Default '99 Turbo out of hood

Hi
I'm thinking of mounting my t76 high, and cut a hole for it in the hood so it would stick out, to gain some more room in the bay for piping and most importantly for the a/c compressor. (because the bay is without an engine or piping for the turbo for now i can't judge how much room i'll have)

My question is : would that be as doable as i think it is? And will it really make that much difference room wise?

What about oil supply for the turbo? Will it be affected?

Thanks alot
Ps: if you guys have any pics, that would be awesome! Cheers

There are a couple people that I've seen on youtube and other websites that run a custom twin turbo setup (and yeah they were decent size turbos) and fit them in the engine bay of an f-body with an LT1. You can do your idea, but I'm not sure how hard it will be. And the oil supply shouldn't be that difficult to set up. If you have the right pressure, the oil will get there.

Sorry about the music on this one, not my video lol

the only problem with that setup is the rad goes where the turbos are

im not formiliar with the LS1 engine bay but do you have any room in the front corners thats a good place for a turbo... are you going to pipe from both headers???

There's not much free space in a an ls1 f body, i can always move stuff around but i would like to do without it.
How do you do a single turbo set up on a v8 without piping both exhaust manifolds?

Why not go the rear mount route ive been looking into it for a while and it is do-able at home. Check this out Build Your Own Turbo Kit They will stay pretty cool too because they arent getting heat that is coming off of the motor.
