Default Man, what is up with Oreilly's?

I received some of the worst customer service I have ever received in my life from Oreilly's the other day. It was absolutely awful, starting with putting me on hold for well over 25 minutes and when I finally just hung up the phone and went down to the store, things just got worse from there. I have never been treated so disrespectful. As a consumer, I get to chose who gets my money and I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on!

My bad experience was with a refund. Needed a windshield wiper blade. Counterman does not look it up; he just hands me a likely prospect and collects my money. Went outside, and the blade was the right size, but with the wrong attachment brackets. It would not fit on the wiper arm. Went back in, and this time, the counterman actually looked up what I needed, and got me the right blade. It did fit. So far, so good.
The prices were equal, but I needed to pay for the correct blade, and then get a refund. I paid, but they would not give me a refund unless I gave them a ton of personal information to get a refund. I told them my picture ID was Andrew Jackson, but that didn't fly. All of my personal ID information was "required" to get a refund. It was a "computer requirement." I called for the manager, and he said the same thing. Funny, I did not need any ID info to BUY the thing, just to return it and get a refund. I took out my phone and faked dialing 411, then asking the locked phone for the local police phone number. I thanked the non-call, then looked up at the manager. "You are trying to extort my personal ID information from me in order to give me a refund. Your counterman sold me the wrong part. I want a refund. The next call I make will be to the police, and then to the news media. I will also write a customer review at home that will empty your parking lot." The manager immediately told the counterman to make the refund using the store's name, address, and phone number, and to give me my money back. I got my refund, but I won't be going back there.

I generally don't go to Oreilly's very often. Around here I use Autozone. My problems have been with American Muscle. Got some defective side markers that had to be returned. From the time I placed the original order until we got the refund, that we had to call for, was about 3 weeks. Tried to post a question about getting a new wing for my car since I am starting to see some delamination in the clear on the OE, it won't take my question! Must be on the bad person list since I wanted quality for my money before.

I've had better luck in both service and parts quality at NAPA.

The car parts store I go to in my small town always installs the wiper blades for me.

So you got bad service because you did want to tell them who you are? Are you kidding me? And you call them the A Hole, it's actually the other way around. If you wanted a refund then follow the company process and this would have never been a issue. Do you think that the world revoles around you, do you think you own this company and can tell them how to run their business. They gave you a refund to get your pathetic butt out of the store. I would have told you to pound sand. Maybe in the future they will do a better job of looking up parts. But this negative customer service is your fault not the store or company!
