Young car enthusiast crazy idea
I wanna know if possibly a good idea for me to make a purchase as, hmm idk, maybe purchasing a nice 4th gen (F-body) Camaro. I can find them all day under 10k in nice condition just like those old 944’s. They have that amazing LS engine, huge aftermarket support, a ton of knowledge, and overall great bang for buck for any lad with a budget like me (10k$)

Can't say I disagree with any of that, remember it's 1998-2002 for the LS.
I've owned a 1993 LT1 car and it was fun but for my money the LS1 is where it's at in 4th gens.
I gave $8000 for my '01 SS M6 (much more in it now) with 86K on the clock and it very nice condition a few years back.
I love this car!

im aware it’s the older model, I usually find plenty of engine blocks from around that time (corvette LS) Is it much of a hassle at all to maintain and live with?

They are prone to failure and tend to act up for a while before quitting altogether which can drive a person nuts trying to figure out what's wrong with the car.
Just google Optispark and you'll find lots of info on them.
The LT1 is otherwise a strong solid motor,my '93 had 222,000 miles on it when I sold her and still ran strong but I had replaced the Opti twice in 30K miles.
The LT1 is an iron block with aluminum heads so a little heavier than the LS1 which is all aluminum and the LT1 doesn't make quite as much power either.
The LS1 is really a great little can do engine and very reliable,it's replaced the old small block Chevy as the go to engine for swaps of all kinds these days and that says a lot because the old 327s and 350s were swapped into just about everything under the sun for decades because they were cheap to buy / build and reliable.
Here's a pic of my old '93 LT1 Z28,owned it for about 7 years and had a lot of fun with it but my '01 LS1 SS is a much better car.

Many both drag race and road race, check out Sam Strano he's an autocross champion and sells a lot of great parts for 4th gen Camaros.
This 2001 Camaro Is One of the Baddest Fourth-Gens To Hit the Streets
Among many other things I have Strano springs and sway bars and a Strano master brake cylinder brace on my car.
