Yeah, it can get costly to replace just simple things. Dashes, guages, seatbelts, etc. A new dash (not a dash pad cap) can run 250 - 350 depending on where you look. The reproductions come with five (maybe six) dash clips instead of the three that the factory ones came with. New instruments, wiring harnesses, etc. can cost more easily. A bumper to bumper wiring harness from painless runs around 550 bucks but you can find them cheaper here and there if you look hard enough and are patient. Do you want it to be a daily driver or are you going for a weekend driver or a high end show car?

I'm not trying to scare you away from a restoration by any means. Just be prepared to take your time and make the investment. It's not going to be overnight unless you've got gobs of money to throw at it.

I went and took a look at the car today personally, the rear axle seems to be a 10 bolt, I dont know how much sturdy the 12 bolts were than this one, and if I should really stress about it or not. I took a bunch of pics, I'll upload them in a bit. The underpanels of the car seem to be in pretty decent condition, they're not corroded to the point of swiss cheese or anything. There seems to be bondo work though on some parts of the car. The car's wiring harness seemed to be in decent shape though, so I may not need it, but I guess once it's actually in my posession I can tell for sure. The rear suspension is really sagged down, but that's expected I think, so I'm not worried. The whole interior of the car looks like ***, it doesnt have any headliner, and the doors are missing lots of trim pieces. There's alot of junk in the car from the people that own it, so I couldnt really see much past the front seat. It needs alot of work for sure, I'm hoping to have it up and driveable in a year or so. I'm hoping to have it looking streetable, and use it as a weekend/track car. I'm not really interested in making it look beautiful and have it sit in a garage all the time.

A project for sure. I have to go to the DMV Monday though, because it was close saturday when I got there, if the paperwork clears, and they give me a title for the car, I'll go pick it up this week

well I was going to say you had one just from the badge markings and the tach. The tach should read red line RPM's at 6000 (yellow at 5500) if I remember correctly. The 5th igit of the VIN will read "L" also.

Found the VIN number info at Nastyz28 just now.

Strike that, just remembered you were looking at 70, not a 72... sorry. Just change 72 to 70 in the URL and it should give you a lot of information about your car.

Yeah the tach gets yellow a little bit past 5500, and redline is at 6500. Yes I've spent some time looking on Nastyz28, they have very good information there. That's how I learned what the vin meant, and I learned a little bit off the trim tag, but I havent spent any time on the computer lately to compare the tags and such. Thanks for the information though
