Hey everybody,
This is my first time here so I thought I'd post a little about myself and my car. My name is Herby and I'm usually found hanging around on Harley boards or on gun boards. But, I've recently decided I needed a new challenge, so I'm going to rebuild the first car I ever owned. She is a 1967 Camaro that I got back in 1982 when I turned 16. She's been in storage since approx 1992 when I got married, and before that she was in storage for 4 years while I was in college. It is a shame, and I'm sad to admit it, but out of the 24 years I've owned her, she's been in storage for approx 18 years. We had a great 6 years together tho! [8D]

I'll attach a couple of pictures of her. One of the pics will have all three of my current projects in it! I look forward to talking with you all.

Looks great. What are you gona put into it?

 

I'm not sure yet what I'm going to put in it. It has a small block 350 right now, but I'm not sure that it is any good. My first task is to pull it, break it down and check it out. If it doesn't look good, I might put in a sbc 400 just to hop it up a little. It was originally a 6 cyl, so I don't want to go back to original with her. She'll always be a weekend play thing instead of an original show car.

I'll post more as I can. The interior has seats from a '69 Camaro. My neighbor across the street from me had a 69 that he had just totaled back when I was first building this car in the early 80's. He gave them to me because they had headrests that I liked and I threw my '67 seats out. I had his recovered in a nice blue vinyl with CRUSHED VELVET inserts!!![:-]

Hey...It was cool back then!

Needless to say, I'll be recovering the seats again.

The car looks awfully good for its age I'd say mang. It looks great in the pics, but its not in running condition I assume?

Nah...
She doesn't run. She got raped by thieves while in storage a few years ago. They got part of my engine, but not all of it. Here's a pic of what's left.

Hey Dave, I even dug up a picture circa 84 or 85 of what the engine looked like then. I added a few more chrome doo dads since this picture was taken, but they are all either gone or trashed now.
