I am looking to buy a 1st Gen Camaro. I have wanted one for 20+ years. Any tips or recommendations?

Welcome to CF. What's your budget, that'll determine how nice (or not) of one you can get. If you can only afford a project, make sure you're not getting in over your head.
I wouldn't recommend buying one off the internet if you can't see it in person beforehand. Everybody has a different idea of what "excellent condition" means, and too many have received a car that's not in as nice of shape as the seller describes. Some have gotten lucky, but you're taking a chance. If you find one, throw it out here in the first gen section, you'll get helpful feedback.

Thanks Camaro 69 and BasicConcepts, I am not looking for a complete rebuild project. I want most of the work already done. I am looking to spens 20-30 grand but for obvious reasons the cheaper the better. This would be a daily driver and not a garage queen. My preference would be a 69 Z/28. I don't care if it is a numbers matching car or even if it was a factory Z/28.

Welcome to the forums. best tip I can give you is to buy one that is already drivable. even if its in bad shape and in need of work, at least you can drive it and get a little bit of enjoyment out of it while you are fixing it up. second tip.... buy now, the prices on 1st Gens are as low now as Ive ever seen them. the Rush is over, prices are good. 3rd.... See everything you consider buying "IN PERSON", cause its like 69'er said, Everybody has a different idea of what "excellent condition" means. 4th tip.... be sure to post pics here when you get one.

Thanks Scooch, where are you located in Florida? I am trying to find someone around Tampa that can school me some before I buy something that isn't really what I am looking for.
