Default Newbie Saying HOWDY

Hello everyone.
Warning I do ramble excessively ckl. I still use lol but think Chuckle is better, hence ckl.
I retired in December of 2017. I've worked on cars and pickups since I was 13. Ah the muscle car era!
Hate to say it but in the 70's I bought a 67 Camaro for the engine and sold the body for a hundred bucks !! Hate to even think about it!! Also sold a slick 350 70 chevelle for 1,000. Oh if I'd only have known!!! I know y'all probably hear that a lot from us oldtimers.
I've rebuilt totals in the past. I've heard a lot of people say "if the frame is bent it will never be right". The frame is a piece of metal that if bent can be put back to its original position with some "kinks" in it. The kinks actually make it stronger. Same thing with the unitized body.
I have a lot to learn about the modern Camaro's electronics. Give me an old Mallory dual point distributor lol. After the big EMP I'd still be cruising, if I could get by all the dead cars !!

I'm 64 years young and still hot rodding a fast Camaro, miss the '69 I had amongst other cars I had back in the day that would be worth a small fortune now.
Hindsight as they say is 20/20 and you can't go back 'eh.

Default Hi

Hi Y2Keglide,
Yep those were some good old days. The muscle cars were everywhere and we didn't know it but the prices were right.

Welcome, Engineer, to the club.
Camaro prices and gas pricing was awesome - Clark's Gas for 28 cts per gallon - 1969.

Default Thanks

I'm rude for not doing it first, but thanks to both of y'all for the welcome.
I've seen Clark's before but if my memory is correct they were up "north".
It's a crying shame that now gas under 2.00 is considered cheap.

Well I've paid over $5.00 in California in recent years and up here in Washington over $4.00 so I'll be happy in the $2.00 range.
Paid $2.49 at a Costco on the Oregon coast today for regular.
I remember being shocked back in '73 when it jumped to $0.50 .
Now I'd be thrilled to only pay a dollar. lol
