Newbie with his first Camaro
Lazvaz here,
Okay so I did own a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS. Didn't look the best but it was a good car and she treated me well. And to be honest that 420a DOHC 4 cylinder engine was pretty fast.

Well a few days ago a guy offers me a trade for a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro. I took it. It needs a little more money put into it than my Eclipse did but it runs. That's a plus right? It doesn't appear to need any major or even many minor mechanical fixes. I figure the most expensive things it needs is a new windshield and a paint job. I hate that it's an automatic because I've only every owned stick shifts but it's my first Camaro and I am excited despite that and how crappy it looks cosmetically. It appears however that the catalytic converter has been removed (lol y?), I don't know. So the car is missing a good 1'4" of exhaust pipe and is unnecessarily loud at the moment. Would it be sufficient enough to just weld on a pipe replacement or should I replace the catalytic converter? Or entire exhaust? Or weld pipe now and replace later? I'm open to all suggestions. I am in Florida so a catalytic converter isn't required by law.

P.S. I don't know much about cars in general and I know absolutely nothing about this Camaro lol so any random information or suggestions is appreciated.

Welcome to Camaro Forums. Having had a Mitsubishi before, all I can say is congratulations on the trade UP!
You'll be fine welding a straight pipe in place of the m.i.a. cat. Unless your car gets emissions tested, then it's going to fail the visual test. Feel free to post up any further questions in the 4th gen tech section.
