Default New-to-me 97 Z28

So, I just traded a motorcycle for this beautiful 1997 Z28... no cash out of pocket and while this car has over 160k on it, we have receipts showing over $3k in engine rebuild and a new water pump. She purrs like a kitten and I've already fallen in love with her after only 150 miles.

There's only a couple issues so far - one is an odd clunking from the rear when you hit a bump. I thought it was the hatch rattling against something, but it feels rather solid.

The other issue is that the ABS light keeps coming on. The thing was incredibly dirty, like from driving on a dirt road, so I'm hoping it's just dirt build-up on the sensor.

Other than that, I'm quite happy!

Sweet, congratulations on the trade. Welcome to CF by the way. Your clunk is likely to be a worn/sloppy bushing in the rear suspension, there are a good number of them back there. Could also be the exhaust hitting the body or rearend. A visual inspection (shiny spot) may show what's hitting. Otherwise, it could help for you to look and listen underneath, while a buddy bounces the rear of the car up and down.

Thanks for the welcome.

The thunking in the rear ended up being the rear hatch not latched properly.

Still trying to figure out the ABS thing.
